The Dismantler Index
A real dataset, not a slide. 30 yards, refreshed every week.
The Index is built from what anyone can see on eBay: store fronts, seller feedback profiles and seller-filtered search results, read from a UK browser. Nothing comes from inside anyone's account. Every figure can be pulled again in about a minute per seller, and it is — weekly.
It covers the big certified operators, the mid-size yards and the Irish and Northern Irish sellers, so a 30-seller field gives you a spread, not just the top five.
Snapshot below is September 2026. eBay data is live and drifts by the hour, so every number on this page is a snapshot and the report you receive uses the week it is written.

Where the line actually sits
Top Rated is the floor. 28 of 30 yards in the field have it.
eBay's badge tells a buyer you clear eBay's bar. It does not tell them — or you — whether you are ahead of the yard that lists the same N/S headlamp off the same donor car. In this field almost everyone clears it, so it separates nobody.
The measure that does spread the field is the 12-month negative feedback rate — negatives as a share of all feedback left, straight off the public profile. It is not eBay's defect rate; that is a different measure with a different denominator. It is simply what your buyers say about you in public, across a year.
The best quarter of the field sits at 0.06% or better. The median is 0.12%. The bottom quarter starts at 0.32%. That is more than a five-fold gap between the top and bottom quarters on a measure every buyer can see before they click Buy It Now.

The four ways a good part turns into a negative
Complaints across the field were read and coded by cause. These four account for over half of them, and every one maps to a fix in the yard, not on eBay.

1. Damage in transit
A bumper in bubble wrap only. An engine dragged off a pallet. Packing is a process, and it fails on the big items first.

N/S when they ordered O/S. The Mk2 when it was the Mk3. A pick check against the order, not the tag, stops most of it.

3. No communication after a problem
Marked dispatched, no tracking, messages unanswered for days. Buyers forgive a problem; they do not forgive silence.
